of Southern Maine
A grassroots activist in
rural Maine lost his family when they learned of his sexual orientation.
Braden creates and produces theater accessible to the larger community
while working for Center for Sexualities and Gender Diversity at the University
of Southern Maine.
Christopher Lee Dial -
Cornell University
Christopher plans to use
his education to open a tuition free boarding school for teens who are
homeless or who live in abusive homes.
Eileen M. Harrington -
Graduate Theological Union
Eileen is pursing a Ph.D.
to teach on theological issues of globalization, social and ecological
justice, and women's issues

Yvette founded a non-profit
organization called 3T's: Teens Teaching Teens, a program promoting health
education to grades K-12. Teens Teaching Teens promotes education
and self-esteem for low income students.

In Hui Lee was expelled from university in her home country for organizing
student protests. In Hui Lee works to prevent domestic violence within
the Korean community.

a series on emerging theologians and other thinkers. Jane says "I
try to use my writing gifts to lift up the lives and voices of those who
don't get noticed by the mainstream books and media."

Khristian serves on the
board of Board of R.U.1.2?, a community center in rural Vermont..
Khristian helped form a group that meets regularly to discuss racism, homophobia
and oppression and create innovative ways to address social problems.

care and is dedicated to using her education to create support for abused
and neglected children in foster care.

Lauren is an environmental
activist who plans to use her studies to work with disadvantaged women

Megan is the founder of
the Coalition for Social Justice, an organization in Sioux Falls, South
Dakota. Megan is passionate about working with the poor and homeless.

degree to help women coping with domestic violence and rape while educating
lawmakers about to women's issues.

Karen is pursuing a Ph.D. and hopes to provide counseling services for
minority and disenfranchised students.

Returning from nine years
working with HIV impacted populations Kenya, Shannon is active in providing
services to people living with HIV.

Active in the Rainbow Lambda
Society for the Deaf, Communication Access Network and Deaf Visual and
Performing Artists, Susan will use her law degree to advocate for and Deaf
and Hard-of-Hearing people

gender issues, transgenderism/transsexualism, and provide services to victims
of childhood sexual abuse.

in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador and Office of the Americas.
Raquel plans to use her education to promote union and workers' rights.
